Oasis fans warned of simple parking hack to save money ahead of summer concerts

Motorists heading to Wembley Stadium, Manchester, Edinburgh or Dublin to watch Oasis this summer have been encouraged to take advantage of a simple parking hack. Comedians Rob Beckett and Josh Widdicombe handed out the tip after visiting a boxing match at Wembley Stadium earlier this summer.

Rob described parking at the stadium as a “nightmare” after using one of the official parking spaces for the fight. Fans driving to Wembley for the Oasis concerts this weekend have been urged to book their official parking in advance. However, only 3,000 bays are available at Wembley Park with prices starting from £40. But, Josh admitted he had taken advantage of a little-known hack that music fans could also benefit from.

Josh said: “We’d booked a parking space in someone’s driveway. This is a great thing, I’ll fully promote it. It’s called JustPark, I’m not paid by them.

“In fact I paid for two different spots on Saturdays. I couldn’t reach it, There was so much traffic so while we were moving we found the nearest parking space in someone’s driveway to where we were. I paid £30 and abandoned our car there and walked the last mile. When we left we were so far from Wembley Stadium there was no traffic.”

Rob was stunned at the revelation, adding: “I think I paid about £75 to wait in a car park until 1am. That’s the way to do it basically park further away and walk in or get the tube up.

“If you’re trying to get the tube home, you’ve just got to leave the event early if you want to get on the tube before anyone else.”

What is JustPark?

JustPark is one of the leading providers of private parking spaces and allows homeowners to rent out their driveways for a small fee. They claim that millions of spaces are available across the UK, with the site catering for over 45,000 locations.

Wembley Stadium is listed as one of JustPark’s most “popular attractions”, alongside fellow music venue The O2.

How does it work?

Motorists can browse JustPark’s online map to quickly identify potential spaces, availability and prices. Once parking has been paid for, directions and access instructions will be provided, making the service hassle-free for road users.

Motorists will then be invited to drive onto someone’s land and stay for their designated time until their parking has expired.

Can homeowners make money on JustPark?

Yes, homeowners living near Wembley Stadium can take advantage of this weekend’s concerts and make some extra revenue.

Advertising a space with plenty of photos and a detailed description is enough to create a listing with homeowners able to rent out their space for rent as little or as much as they like.
