Trash collection in the Big Apple is facing delays as the city sanitation department works to remove several feet of snow that blanketed the boroughs Monday.
“Collection will be delayed during snow operations,” the agency wrote in an X post Monday afternoon, noting its priority is to “keep the roadways open.”
Residents with Tuesday recycling are asked to hold material until further notice.
Alleyway collection is suspended this week; that material should be placed curbside, the DSNY added.
“We will prioritize trash and compost once collection resumes,” the agency wrote. “Stay tuned for further updates.”
