NYC students to return to in-person learning after snow day’s online glitches

Big Apple public school kids will be back for in-person learning Tuesday one day after the snowy mess left by Winter Storm Fern forced classroom closures, Mayor Zohran Mamdani announced.

The mayor’s decision Monday came during a remote learning day rife with tech glitches that kept many students – and their frustrated families – from logging into their virtual classrooms.

“Thanks to the round-the-clock work of our schools facilities teams, we are ready to welcome students and staff back to classrooms tomorrow,” Mamdani said in a statement.

“I am deeply grateful to our school leaders, educators and families for making today’s remote learning day a success and for preparing our students to return.”

Mamdani and school officials controversially opted to make Monday a remote learning day instead of a traditional snow day, in part because the school calendar’s addition of more holidays gives them less days to take off.
