The jogger who was stabbed in the neck on a popular Brooklyn waterfront promenade Friday night was remembered by neighbors as a “family oriented” woman who worked at a local bank.

Katie Suarez, 28, was a “very professional, very kind” woman who had a “very good character,” neighbors told The Post Saturday.

“I mean, nobody is supposed to have [their] life taken, you know, being bad or good, but she was kind of exceptional to me, the way I interact with her,” one neighbor said.

Katie Suarez was pronounced brain dead after she was stabbed in an apparent random attack in Brooklyn on Oct. 30, 2026. Linkedin

“It’s sad, man, because they’re good neighbors… constantly walking by, you know, they treat people with respect,” the man said of Suarez and her partner.

Neighbors said Suarez, who was left brain dead in the attack,  worked at a local bank branch as a teller.

“A good teller and good character, you understand? Looks like a very family oriented woman,” a neighbor explained.

Another local, who has known Suarez for several years, said “she’s a very soft spoken girl, very nice,” noting it’s “very sad for her.”

“I’m very sad. That’s terrible. I’m sad for everybody,” local Anna Dece said.

“But this is close. It’s too much right now. It’s a mad world,” she added.

The runner was stabbed in the neck while near Bay 17th Street and Shore Parkway in Bath Beach just after 8 p.m. Friday, police said.

Suarez’s father found her on the path when he went looking for her, according to police sources.

She was rushed to NYU Langone Hospital in critical condition and was declared brain dead Saturday, police sources said.
