Numerology is an ancient mystical belief that each fundamental number, from one to nine, carries a vibrational energy that influences what happens around you.
Take the year 2024, for example, by adding up all the numbers together we get to the number eight.
Numerologist Jasmin Alejandrez-Prasadm said: “The numerology of 2024 tells us that this will be a year of material and spiritual focus. It’s a number for leadership, prosperity and success.
“In many spiritual spaces, eight also represents the infinity symbol, which is asking us to complete karma instead of constantly repeating cycles.”
Jasmin encourages everybody to identify habitual loops you might have been in that are no longer serving you, if they served you at all in the first place.
“We must identify the loops we repeatedly create within our realities,” Jasmin told Refinery29. “These relate to ego consciousness and not who we truly are.”
Fellow numerologist Jayshree Dhamani encourages people to delve deeper into the mystical practice.
Instead of taking 2024 at face value as number eight, utilise your birthdate to gain a deeper insight into how the year ahead will affect you.
“Our birth date, month, and year are significant parts of our life,” said Jayshree.
To calculate your personal year number:
Date of birth + month of birth + current year = personal year number
E.g.
Birthday: March 21
3 + 21 + 2024 = 2048
2+0+4+8 = 14
1+4 = five
“Add your date of birth, your month of birth, and the current year, all together, then reduce to a single digit,” Jayshree instructed.
Personal number one
Number one isn’t considered compatible with number eight, so expect challenges this year.
However, the themes for 2024 for those with a person number one are action and power: take action to have power over the direction of your life.
