What our Post expert thinks about Mets vs. Phillies
The Phillies have entirely turned their season around after a dreadful start, climbing back into contention under interim manager Don Mattingly and putting themselves firmly in the National League playoff picture.
In the Mets’ case, they have shown zero improvement despite a managerial change, as an underperforming roster continues to waste the presence of superstar Juan Soto.
Offensive inconsistencies and lingering concerns with the pitching staff have left the Mets at a loss of answers as they approach the trade deadline, where they are expected to be sellers.
