Goran Ivanisevic is returning to professional tennis as the coach of Elena Rybakina. Just a month after the 2022 Wimbledon champions parted company with Stefano Vukov in acrimonious circumstances, the former mentor of Novak Djokovic has reportedly agreed to take his place.

Rybakina, 25, claimed Vukov caused her ‘psychological problems’ due to his repeated insults towards her.

The pair had been together for five years, a period where the Kazakstan player also reached the Australian Open final and reached a career high of No.3 in the world.

Eurosport tennis journalist Reem Abulleil has revealed that she’ll now start working with the Croatian icon once the 2024 season is over. Ivanisevic, 53, has been out of tennis since splitting with Djokovic in March this year.

He had served on Djokovic’s team since 2018, and became his official head coach in 2022. During their time together, the all-time great won 12 Grand Slam titles, taking his overall tally to a record breaking 24.
