Novak Djokovic’s daughter steals Wimbledon hearts in adorable on-court interview | Tennis | Sport

After Djokovic sealed his 100th match win at Wimbledon on Saturday, Annabel Croft asked the 38-year-old to explain his celebration.

“It’s could pumpa in our language and pump it up in English. There’s a song with my kids,” he started, before looking over to his box and realising Tara had already started dancing.

He added: “And look, my daughter is doing it right now. You want to show it, darling? You want to show how it goes? She’s the master! It’s a little tradition we have right now so hopefully we can keep going so we can keep pumping in Wimbledon.”

Djokovic’s 10-year-old Stefan was also in the box to watch his dad storm past Kecmanovic to become the third player to record 100 career victories here after Roger Federer and Martina Navratilova.

After achieving another milestone, the 24-time Grand Slam champion said: “Very historic, it sounds very nice, I’m very grateful, obviously privileged to be in the position that I am. I’ve said it many times, tennis made me who I am, has given me incredible things in life that I can experience.

“I try not to take anything for granted, particularly at this age, still going strong, still trying to compete with the young players and do some slides and some splits on the court and push myself to the limit.

“Well, look, Wimbledon is the favourite tournament and dream tournament of not just myself but probably the majority of tennis players growing up.

“Most dream of winning here. I’ve been lucky enough to win many times. Any history that I make in my favourite tournament, I’m blessed.”

And there was another familiar face in the stands to watch Djokovic blitz Kecmanovic. Former world No. 12 and fellow Serbian Viktor Troicki has been coaching Kecmanovic and was in his box.

It was an unusual dynamic for Djokovic, as Troicki is also his Davis Cup Captain.

“His coach Viktor Troicki is here, he’s our Davis Cup captain. This was the first time in my life I was playing an official match with Viktor in the opposite box so it was a strange feeling so hopefully it never happens again,” he laughed.

Asked whether he’d be buying dinner for Troicki and Kecmanovic tonight, the world No. 6 joked: “Whatever he wants!”
