Noel Gallagher’s daughter, Anais, has delivered a five-word verdict on her father’s monumental Oasis reunion concert, which absolutely electrified Cardiff last night.
Liam Gallagher, 52, and his elder brother, Noel, 58, took to the stage together for the first time in 16 years in the Welsh capital and certainly didn’t let down their devoted fanbase, who were fortunate enough to have secured tickets.
Amongst the audience for the first night of the Oasis reunion tour was proud daughter Anais, who posted a photograph of herself clutching a pint and wearing an Oasis shirt whilst watching her father and uncle perform on stage.
Offering her assessment of the memorable evening, Anais, 25, wrote alongside the image: “It’s good to be back.”
Reacting to her post, numerous fans concurred as one responded, stating: “It was amazing, epic, hope you enjoyed it” whilst another simply proclaimed: “EPIC!”, reports The Mirror.
Anais’ mother Meg Mathews, who was wed to Noel from 1997 until 2001, was also present in the crowd – but was observed departing the reunion concert before the band performed Wonderwall.
The track may prove a challenging listen for Meg, whom Noel previously claimed had inspired the song.
A host of celebrity faces were spotted amongst the audience as Oasis reunited for a comeback tour, which has topped fans’ wishlists for over a decade.
The group were witnessed entering the stage to their track ‘F**king in the Bushes’ before launching into ‘Hello’.
The audience greeted them with roars at the sold-out performance, which launches a worldwide tour for the Don’t Look Back In Anger legends. Spotted in the audience were celebrities like EastEnders star Danny Dyer and Line Of Duty’s Vicky McClure.
Vernon Kay was also seen snapping photos outside the Principality Stadium.
“Hey, beautiful people, it’s been too long,” Liam addressed the ecstatic crowd, which included Glastonbury founder Emily Eavis.
Liam expressed his gratitude to the 70,000 fans at Oasis’ first reunion gig in Cardiff for ‘putting up with them over the years’. The Gallagher brothers have been locked in a bitter feud for 16 years, leading many fans to abandon hope of an Oasis reunion tour.
Yet, they stunned the world last year by announcing they would be setting off on a monumental global tour. Cardiff had the honour of hosting their inaugural gig on Friday night, where the brothers joined hands and lifted them high as they made their entrance.
Hits like Champagne Supernova, Supersonic, and Slide Away were belted out, with Noel taking a moment during Half The World Away to absorb the incredible atmosphere.
Following Oasis’ departure from the stage at the end of the evening, the crowd erupted, stomping and cheering for an encore.
The band re-emerged to perform The Masterplan, Don’t Look Back In Anger, and Wonderwall, after which Liam thanked the fans for their enduring support.
Overwhelmed by the past two and a half hours, he said: “Thank you, beautiful people. This is it. Nice one for putting up with us over the years. We are hard work, we get it.”
Fans of Liam and Noel have been saying the same thing about their vocals after the first gig, as they admit they still ‘sound amazing’ after all these years.
