A couple were stunned after they arrived at a theme park that looks like it belongs in another “dimension” thanks to its impressive, immersive design.
There’s a host of exciting theme parks all over the world, offering visitors a wide array of attractions from thrilling rides to cartoon and game characters wandering around to interact with, entertainment shows and much more.
Universal Studios boasts five destinations around the world. Its first-ever theme park was the famed Universal Studios Hollywood, which still stands to this day, and was soon followed by sites in Florida, Japan, Singapore and Beijing.
There’s currently an upcoming theme park planned to open here in the UK, in Bedfordshire.
But it was Universal Studios Japan, located in Osaka, which recently drew the admiration and awe of one British couple – as well as thousands of social media users whose jaws similarly dropped when footage of their experience was shared on TikTok.
The park first opened on March 31, 2001, and was the first to open outside the United States. On its website, it states: “Our theme park appeals to children and adults of all ages, and covers a wide spectrum of entertainment based on blockbuster Hollywood movies, from thrilling rides to shows featuring popular characters”.
It’s also home to the impressive Super Nintendo World, with huge, life-size recreations of the buildings and levels made famous in the iconic Super Mario and Donkey Kong games.
Travelling couple Claudia and Liam, who post online as the Cotswold Wanderers, ventured to Universal Studios in Japan where the reality of seeing Super Nintendo World left them speechless.
In a video posted to TikTok, the couple can be seen with their mouths agape before the camera pans around to show they’re looking at the spectacle of giant, brightly coloured buildings made famous on games consoles all over the world.
In the caption accompanying the clip, the couple penned: “Just two 20 something year olds that have dreamed of seeing this in real life.”
The video struck a chord with thousands of other social media users, racking up more than 246K likes, 42.9K shares, 28.7K saves and over 1,000 comments.
