Despite fans awaiting news of the Nintendo Switch 2, SEGA will be the first big video game company holding a presentation in 2025.

Ahead of this month’s rumoured Nintendo Switch 2 reveal, SEGA has announced plans to hold a Direct conference for upcoming game Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii.

Promising tens of hours of gameplay, the action role-playing game will be showcased during a special event that you can watch live by clicking play on the YouTube video below.

The Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii Direct conference will go live at 5pm GMT UK time on the afternoon of January 9.

Just click play on the YouTube embed above to watch the action unfold live.

According to SEGA, the video will look at some of the new features coming to the upcoming release.

SEGA explains more: “The livestream will reveal various updates and first-looks at new features for the upcoming modern-day pirate adventure Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii which launches on February 21.”

Two versions are currently available from digital stores, including a Standard Edition for £54.99 and a Deluxe Edition for £64.99.

The Digital Edition contains the Legendary Pirate Crew Pack, Legendary Outfit Pack, the Ship Special Customisation Pack, Extra Karaoke and CD Pack, as well as the Ichiban Pirate Crew Set and Ichiban Special Outfit Set.

You can actually save money on the PlayStation Store version by purchasing discounted PlayStation Store credit from CD Keys. (Prices below are correct at the time of writing.)

Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii is coming to PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC on February 21.

According to SEGA, players will square off against cutthroat criminals, modern-day pirates and other scoundrels, as an amnesia-stricken Goro Majima embarks on a quest for a legendary treasure.

The new Like a Dragon spinoff features the more action-oriented combat system of classic Yakuza games, utilising two different fighting styles.

SEGA explains more: “Players can now switch between two fighting styles: dual-wield short swords or deploy pirate tools with the swashbuckling ‘Sea Dog’ style or utilise speed, agility and flair to defeat enemies into submission with the infamous ‘Mad Dog’ style.”

Like any good pirate adventure games, you’ll also be able to assemble a crew for your ship the ‘Goromaru’, all the while battling enemy ships and scoring loot.

That’s on top of the usual assortment of Yakuza mini-games, including delivery side-quests, karaoke, and kart racing.
