If you’ve been on the hunt for an air fryer, then you’ve probably heard of Ninja. The brand has become something of a market leader in recent years. Whether you’re on the hunt for your first air fryer or are looking to upgrade your current model, Amazon has discounted numerous Ninja air fryers as part of Amazon Prime Deal Days.
There are plenty to choose from, whether you want to save space with a double stack or are mostly cooking for one and only need a single drawer. But one of the best discounts we’ve spotted is on the Ninja Foodi MAX Dual Zone, with a 7.6L capacity.
Not only has the air fryer received a significant 45% discount, but it’s also cheaper than on Ninja’s own website. The air fryer retails on the Ninja website for £199.99, but on Amazon, it has been reduced to just £119.99, which is quite a bargain.
With two drawers, this air fryer can cook two different things at the same time on two different settings. So, that means you can cook two different elements of your dinner that require different cooking functions and temperatures at the same time. And, if you want everything to finish at the same time, just press the ‘sync’ button.
Alternatively, if you want both drawers to cook at the same time, you can use the match button. This is particularly handy if you’re cooking a lot of the same item. Just spread them out across the two drawers, set the temperature and cooking function, and press match to ensure both drawers are the same.
The model has six cooking functions, including air fry, roast, bake, dehydrate, reheat and a crisping setting.
According to Ninja, both drawers are big enough to fit a 1.6kg chicken or 1kg of fries in each, which they say is enough to feed eight people. The drawers are also non-stick. The air fryer itself measures 26.5 x 38 x 31.5, so it is wider than a double stack or smaller model, but great if you have a little bit of extra counter space.
Shoppers have said the air fryer is versatile in its cooking ability and have recommended buying liners and dishes to maximise cooking potential. One Amazon review said: “With the Ninja, I can cook a medium chicken in one drawer. You don’t have to preheat, so there’s no hanging about. I’ve purchased some Pyrex dishes that fit, so I can batch cook cottage pie, lasagne, etc, to pop in my nifty Ninja. Worth every penny.”
Another added, “Food-wise, at first, I started to use it just for chips, chicken strips, mini pizzas, etc., but we are now using it for things like sausages, chicken, pork, and salmon. We cooked some new potatoes in it, and they were fantastic, so we will be trying some other vegetables, too. More importantly, we’re very pleased with the way the food cooks and tastes.
“It reduces cooking time by around 50% for things like chips, chicken strips, but I don’t know if there is any direct energy savings at this point.”
Ninja’s own research claims that it can save up to 65% energy compared to fan ovens. This research compared the recommended cooking time of frozen sausages using the air fryer and using a traditional fan oven. Of course, findings may differ depending on what you are cooking.
While the air fryer has a 4.8-star rating on Amazon, one customer pointed out that the power cord is only suitable if you’re plugging in directly near a socket. They explained: “Looks great, cooks perfectly, but loses two stars from me because they put a woefully short power lead on it…would it have really hurt them to put an extra 20 to 30cm cable on?”
As with all Prime Deal Days offers, these discounts won’t last long. The sale ends at midnight on October 8.
