Anyone in the market for an air fryer to feed the whole family could consider the Foodi Max 9.5L dual zone air fryer. It’s currently £169.99 at Amazon, £60 less than its original price of £229.99.
While the Foodi Max comes in a few colour options, this copper and black version is the cheapest we’ve found, and Amazon is the only site selling it at this price (it has sold out on the Ninja website). The closest alternative is the black and silver design, which is £180 on Amazon, or £199.99 at Ninja.
It’s a dual-drawer model with two 4.75L cooking zones that can be set to different functions and temperatures simultaneously. For example, it can roast vegetables on one side while crisping chicken nuggets on the other. And thanks to its clever Sync feature, everything finishes cooking at the same time. Plus, it comes with a pair of tongs.
There’s also a handy Match button, which mirrors the settings from one basket to the other, ideal for feeding a crowd. The baskets are non-stick, dishwasher safe, and no oil is required to get crispy, golden results. It’s designed to feed up to eight people.
This model has six cooking functions – Air Fry, Max Crisp, Roast, Bake, Reheat, and Dehydrate – and claims to use up to 65% less energy than fan ovens, based on Ninja’s internal testing.
This particular air fryer scores an impressive 4.9 out of 5 on the Ninja website, with shoppers praising how easy it is to clean and use. One buyer wrote: “Great features. Good-sized compartments.” Another purchaser from Amazon, where it has a rating of 4.8 based on almost 19,000 reveiws wrote: “This air fryer cooks quickly and efficiently compared to standard ovens. It’s easy to use with intuitive controls. I also appreciate that the drawers and inner trays are dishwasher safe. It’s worth the money.”
There are a few caveats: the dual-drawer design does mean each basket is smaller than some single-drawer models, so whole chickens may need to be halved, for example. It’s not the most compact appliance at 41.5cm wide and 27cm deep, so it’s worth checking counter space before buying.
Although Ninja has lots of excellent reviews, there are plenty of other air fryers available with comparable size drawers and featuring dual‑zone capability.
Argos currently has a Cookworks 9L Dual Air Fryer on sale for £70, which they say is their lowest ever price. According to the Cookworks website, it’s normally priced at £179.97 from Appliances Direct, so this is a very good saving. It has a rating of 4.8 stars out of five, and they say 98% of their customers recommend it. According to the details, Cookworks says the product has enough room in its two baskets for up to eight servings. It’s possible to cook two dishes at different temperatures and have them ready at the same time.
Lakeland Dual Basket Air Fryer is available for £99.99 and offers eight litres (or two 4L baskets). The website also states it has eight cooking programmes; however, rather than being separated into styles, Lakeland has categorised them into food items — steak, chicken wings, seafood, fish, pizza, chips, bake, and vegetables. According to the reviews, many felt this was the perfect air fryer for ‘newbies’. One satisfied customer wrote: “My first air fryer and I am so pleased with it…I haven’t used my main oven or grill since!”
