Nigel Farage unveiled the latest defectors to Reform UK at a rally tonight. The Reform leader announced three councillors had joined the right-wing party at the event in Lincolnshire.
The defectors are Adrian Findley who sits on Skegness Town Council and is the Mayor of Skegness, Jimmy Brookes on East Lindsey District Council and the Deputy Mayor of Skegness and Danny Brookes on East Lindsey District Council. Mr Farage said: “Reform is on the march, people are joining us, we’re growing. But this is about attitudes, it’s about belief, we really believe in Britain, we believe in our country, we believe in our people, we believe we’ve been led badly.”
Mr Farage was in Lincolnshire to campaign for Dame Andrea Jenkyns’ bid for Greater Lincolnshire Mayor and Reform candidates in May’s local elections.
Earlier today, Mr Farage earlier announced Alexander Jones as Reform UK’s candidate for the Doncaster mayoral election.
The party said he had worked in property before “founding his own Forex trading business and modelling”.
Reform also yesterday selected Sarah Pochin, a former Conservative councillor and mayor for Cheshire East, as its candidate for the Runcorn and Helsby by-election.
It comes as the party is seeking to move on from a row over Great Yarmouth MP Rupert Lowe.
He lost the Reform whip earlier this month over allegations of office bullying and was also reported to the police over claims of verbal threats towards Reform chairman Zia Yusuf, which he denies.
