Tragic former child star Tylor Chase has been sleeping on his mother’s porch behind a plywood barrier after the ex-Nickelodeon actor revealed in September he was addicted to drugs and homeless.
The 36-year-old declined to comment during a recent visit from The Post, but his mother Paula Moisio described the home as a “safe space” for the prodigal son.
It’s unclear whether the “Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide” star is welcome inside the house or is merely being allowed to crash on the porch, where a makeshift wall has been set up to shield him from public view.
A GoFundMe campaign for the former actor raised over $1,200 before Moisio shut it down, claiming Chase would just use the cash for drugs. She said her son “needs medical attention, not money.”
Chase was placed in a 72-hour hold at a Riverside hospital on Christmas Day and was expected to enter a rehab facility, TMZ reported.
He was later spotted digging around in the dirt behind a 7-Eleven on a busy street near Riverside.
He was seen looking disheveled, wearing a torn jacket, with his hands cut and blistered and dirt under his fingernails.
Chase told the Daily Mail that he “likes to vape” and takes “Prozac, Adderall, Sudafed, Wellbutrin or also Zoloft.” He claimed he got all the drugs from a psychiatrist, but denied that he’s been diagnosed with any mental-health conditions.
He’s had 12 misdemeanor arrests in Riverside County since 2023, mostly for shoplifting from businesses around the neighborhood. His most recent arrest occurred at a Nordstrom Rack, court records show.
Locals said Chase has become an unfortunate fixture in the neighborhood.
Two young women working at a Dairy Queen near his mom’s house said they recognized him from a viral TikTok video and that he likes to hang around the nearby Tyler Mall.
In December, Riverside Police Department representative Ryan Railsback told TMZ that Chase was not currently wanted for any crimes.
Railsback also said that officers are familiar with Chase and interact with him at least once a week.
The day after his interview with the Daily Mail, his former “Ned’s Declassified” co-star Daniel Curtis Lee found him in Riverside and took him to eat at a nearby pizza place before checking him into a motel.

“He trusted an old friend,” Lee said in an Instagram clip of the pair’s reunion. “He wanted to stay local and this was the only one that was open.”
Chase allegedly ended up trashing the room; staff found the door wide open, a refrigerator flipped upside down and a microwave in the bathtub.
Chase played Martin Qwerly on “Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide” from 2004–2007.
