Since Daniel Craig shockingly announced No Time To Die would be his final role as James Bond in 2019, rumours about the next 007 have been rampant.
Among the fan predictions are actors Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Paul Mescal, Theo James and James Norton, who addressed the speculations.
The 39-year-old, who currently stars in ITV’s Playing Nice, has added fuel to the Bond rumours after fans spotted a major clue in the thriller series.
After watching the show, TikTok users TalkOfTheTownsends shared a clip on the platform with their own theory.
Addressing their followers, the duo questioned: “Did they accidentally reveal James Norton as James Bond?”
TikTok star Benedict Townsend asked: “James Norton is in the show and he’s long been rumoured to be the next James Bond.
“Every James Bond has in their contract that they cannot wear a tuxedo in any other media while their James Bond.”
He explained: “There’s a scene in the third episode of Playing Nice where they’re at a gala where every single man is wearing a tuxedo except James Norton, who is wearing a regular suit.
“Admittedly his character is meant to be humble,” Hannah interjected: “The other side is the rich family, and he’s not,” Benedict continued: “So it could just be a character-related wardrobe.”
Hannah exclaimed: “It could be that he’s going to be the next James Bond,” as Benedict predicted: “He might have signed the contract already precluded from wearing a tux.”
Despite this, in August 2024, the Telegraph reported on the next James Bond film: “There is no script, no title, not even a director.
“Though I’m told a small number of contenders have been summoned to Eon Productions’ London HQ for what have been described as ‘a first round of speed dates’.
“No setting has been chosen, no source material selected, from the Ian Fleming novels or elsewhere”.
