A much-loved American restaurant will make its way to the UK over the next two years. Brits will be able to enjoy a new tasty fast-food chain, Chick-fil-A. You’ll be able to try their legendary chicken on UK soil soon, with their new stores to be the only ones outside of the USA, Canada, and Puerto Rico.
According to Time Out, the chain will invest more than £75.43 million into its UK market over the next decade. The Chick-fil-A branches in the UK will be in Belfast, Leeds, Liverpool and London.
Over the years, plenty of American chains have laid their roots in London from Popeyes, to Wendy’s and Taco Bell.
Chick-fil-A did open a branch in the UK in 2019, in Reading, but the branch closed due to protestors.
After a six-month trial period, the restaurant closed due to customer backlash over donations made to anti-LGBT groups.
Asked whether KFC or Chick-fil-A is better, one person on Reddit said: “In my opinion I prefer chick fil A 100% – not even a question.”
Metro says fans are hoping when it returns to the UK this time around, it will bring its breakfast menu, which in the US features savoury biscuits (similar to a scone) filled with chicken, as well as hash brown scrambles, plus wraps and muffins.
Other American fast-food chains are currently setting their sights on the UK such as Popeyes which is currently expanding across the country, Carl’s Jr and Dave’s Hot Chicken.
Chick-fil-A hasn’t officially confirmed what exactly will be on its menu just yet, although we do know several of the chain’s signature items including the original Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich, nuggets, and waffle fries, will be venturing across the pond.
