Netflix’s most anticipated original film of 2025 is set to hit the big screen soon, albeit for a very brief period.

The critically acclaimed animated musical, which was released in June, quickly became a streaming phenomenon, securing its place as Netflix’s second most-watched English-language film ever with an impressive 184.6 million views.

Viewers have been singing praises about the film, hailing it as one of Netflix’s finest releases in recent years and are already clamouring for a sequel.

Netflix has now confirmed that the much-talked-about KPop Demon Hunters will be making its way to cinemas near you.

When a rival boy band, the Saja Boys, make their debut, it’s revealed that their members are actually demons in disguise with a sinister plan to steal Huntr/x’s fans and drain their powers.

Those who have already streamed, rewatched and learnt the lyrics to the film’s catchy soundtrack will now get the opportunity to flaunt their pop star prowess at sing-along screenings on the big screen.

KPop Demon Hunters will be shown in cinemas for one weekend only, with screenings scheduled for Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th across the UK.

If you’ve somehow missed this film, take it from these fans – it deserves a spot at the top of your must-watch list.

One X user gushed: “Just watched the KPop Demon Hunters Movie… best movie I have seen in a long time.

“As a kpop fan for 8 years I have to say everything about this was perfect. They nailed this concept and it was so much fun with a compelling story! I need more music from them!”

Another viewer penned: “I’m surprised Netflix didn’t do much advertising for this movie but KPOP DEMON HUNTERS is one of the best animated movies I’ve seen in years!

“Catchy songs (Argh! SODA POP! ) feminine, caring, and strong FMCs [female main characters] and a story with a heart. I super recommend this!”

“It is not only the best animated movie of the year (so far), it is also one of the best movies of 2025,” a third enthusiast declared. “I could see why everyone is talking about it.”

Meanwhile, one of the film’s hundreds of five-star Google reviews stated: “I went into KPop Demon Hunters expecting a fun little animated flick and walked out feeling like I’d just watched one of the best things Netflix (and Sony Pictures Animation) has ever put out.

“This movie is a neon explosion of style, music, and heart, and it never once lets the energy drop.

“A dazzling fusion of pop stardom and supernatural chaos that deserves to be the start of a full-blown franchise.”

Will you be queuing up to catch KPop Demon Hunters at the cinema this weekend?

KPop Demon Hunters will be in UK cinemas on 23rd and 24th August and is available to stream on Netflix.
