A crew member who worked on the set of Meghan Markle’s Netflix show “With Love, Meghan” has shared what it was really like working with the former royal. The Duchess of Sussex, 43, was at the heart of her new eight-episode cooking series and has received very mixed feedback since the show aired just last week.
While some people have been quick to harshly criticise the Duchess and her show, staff who worked on this set with Meghan have done quite the opposite. Despite being accused of mistreating people who had worked with her before, claims Meghan has always denied, it seems this could not be further from the truth when it came to filming this new show.
Instead, Meghan has received a glowing reference from one Netflix staff member who made a surprising four-word remark about the experience.
The staff member, who was not named, told People magazine: “It was really lovely.”
He said: “Whether it was a coffee cart in the morning or there was one day where the forecast called for it to be particularly hot, and she had a shaved ice truck for us at lunch.
“One day, she had a bespoke ice cream cart with local homemade ice cream. She had an acai truck for us, too.
“Every week, she did something like that for us. It was really lovely.”
A crew member also praised Meghan for her hosting skills, with the duchess reportedly ensuring all of the cast were well-fed throughout the day. The insider said: “She was a great hostess. Between takes, if something was ready to eat, she’d cut it into bite-sized pieces and serve it to us.”
Meghan also spoke fondly about the crew members who worked with her day in, day out during the filming of the show, which reportedly took place last year.
Talking to People previously about the filming experience and crew, the duchess said: “It feels as though we’re just spending time together, which is what it ended up being.
“I’d make a recipe and say, ‘Everyone try this,’ and there are certain dishes where you just watch everyone flock in. I’d say, ‘We’ve run out of spoons!’ It ended up feeling so communal, and that’s the spirit of the show.”
