A Netflix film starring Ryan Reynolds has been dubbed the “worst film of all time” by cinema fans. It has a dismal 37% score on Rotten Tomatoes and was rated just 6.2/10 on IMDB.
The Reynolds feature, which was financed and released by Netflix, did not sit well with audiences at the time. Years on from its release and it’s still regarded poorly by viewers, with an X user sharing a clip of the film and calling it the worst film ever made.
It’s got stiff competition from the likes of The Room, Foodfight, and Birdemic: Shock and Terror, but it appears this Reynolds and Dwayne Johnson-starring feature is the lowest of the low.
A clip from the film has since gone viral, with many saying it’s the first, and hopefully last time, they ever lay eyes on Red Notice.
Footage from Red Notice, the film starring Reynolds, Johnson, and Gal Gadot, has stunned members of the public as some were not entirely sure it even “existed” outside of the streaming platform.
The film dropped back in 2021 but received little, if any, fanfare from film communities. One user wrote: “This is the first time I have ever seen a clip from Red Notice. I don’t know if I ever really believed it existed before.”
Another added: “This is the worst film ever made. There is no other way to put it. Simply, the worst film ever made.” A third joked: “Red Notice deserves more hate than whatever Free Guy gets in my opinio.”
Free Guy, another Reynolds-starring film, was also poorly received on release. But Red Notice has left cinema-goers furious as they believe Netflix are set on it being a huge brand film, despite it looking particularly poor.
One viewer wrote: “Refuse to believe people watched this. Long held theory Netflix preemptively decided ‘this is the one’ in terms of the movie they’ll put out fake numbers for as their biggest ever.”
Another was left horrified by the films special effects, saying it makes the work on recent Marvel films look like masterpieces.
They shared: “I know people make fun of the green screen and VFX in Marvel movies all the time and for good reason but even the ugliest effects shots in MCU history look 10x better than this. This literally looks like an Expedia commercial.”
A third joked: “It’s so funny how Ryan Reynolds consistently makes fun of Green Lantern as if the movies he’s in nowadays are any better.”
A fourth agreed, adding: “Reynolds isn’t a bad actor, but he somehow finds his way into the worst movies. He’ll have you believe Green Lantern was an outlier, but he’s also in Deadpool and Wolverine.”
But not everyone was upset with Red Notice, as some praised the dialogue of the film. One fan wrote: “Said this before, I’ll say it again: you could put this exact dialogue/scenario into Archer with him and Lana, and it’d be infinitely funnier.”
