Tom Hardy’s acclaimed film, hailed as his “best” by fans, has just dropped on Netflix. The 2011 hit Warrior stars Tom Hardy as the ex-marine Tommy Riordan Conlon and features Nick Nolte and Joel Edgerton as Paddy and Brendan Conlon. This gripping sports drama tells the tale of Tommy, who seeks training from his father Paddy, a recovering alcoholic and former wrestling coach, to compete in ‘Sparta’, the biggest MMA event ever.

Complications arise when Tommy’s estranged brother Brendan, a former fighter himself, also enters the fray. The official synopsis states: “Tommy Riordan, an ex-marine with a tragic past, returns home and enlists his father, a recovering alcoholic and former wrestling coach, to train him for ‘Sparta’, the biggest MMA tournament ever held.”

It continues: “But when Tommy’s underdog brother, Brendan, fights his way into the tournament, the two brothers must finally confront each other and the forces that pulled them apart. What ensues is the most gut-wrenching, soul-stirring and unforgettable battle of their lives.”

Upon its initial release, Warrior garnered critical acclaim, earning Nick Nolte an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Paddy, reports SurreyLive.

Movie buffs have also lauded Warrior, particularly praising Tom Hardy’s portrayal of Tommy.

On X, an avid filmgoer exclaimed: “Warrior is one of Tom Hardy’s best films. I highly recommend it,” while another chimed in: “Warrior is one of the top 10 movies of the past 15 years and it flies totally under the radar. This was a true masterpiece of a movie and performance from Tom Hardy and Nick Nolte.”

The flick Warrior has scored an impressive 84 per cent on Rotten Tomatoes, as adoring fans shower it with five-star accolades, lauding the cast’s performances.

A viewer commented: “This movie captures a very real and emotional atmosphere throughout the film, the writing and delivery of the dialogue was fantastic. Nick Nolte absolutely steals the show, and in my opinion this was his best performance in his career.

“Beautiful movie, amazing mma scenes, one of my favorite ones to watch,” declared another admirer.
