NATO aircraft were scrambled for a third time in just days after savage Russian missile and drone strikes struck the Western Ukrainian city of Lviv. The city is fewer than 50 miles away from the border with Poland, which was forced to scramble its fighters.
The Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces said: ” In connection with the activity of long-range aviation of the Russian Federation, conducting strikes on Ukrainian territory… aircraft of the Polish Air Force and allied aviation are operating in Polish airspace.”
Lviv’s Mayor Andriy Sadovy said: “A loud night in Lviv. The enemy carried out a combined attack with shaheeds and rockets… There are preliminary reports of casualties. The blast wave damaged dozens of houses: windows and roofs. All services are working on the spot.”
Emergency services reported an unknown number of dead and injured due to the attacks.
