NATO 'not ready for WW3' with Russia, warns Ukrainian MP

We have reached the two-year anniversary of Russia’s unprovoked and brutal invasion. Yet NATO and the Western alliance, in most cases, remain shockingly underprepared and uninterested in the realities of the war. They do not recognise the danger they are in if Ukraine falls to Putin, our 21st century version of Hitler.

Ukrainian forces have recently had to retreat from Avdiivka. There is only one reason that our brave soldiers have had to withdraw – a lack of ammunition and supplies. We are conceding ground because many of our allies have decided that we no longer deserve unquestioning support.

At least, that is the message that is being received in Kyiv and across Ukraine. Our supplies have been reduced to a trickle of what they once were.
As Western support has waned, the Russian military machine has started motoring. Russia is estimated to be spending as much as 7.5 per cent of GDP on its military and has moved to a true wartime economy.
The UK, our most reliable ally, is falling short. It has become clear that years of unreversed defence cuts have crippled the UK and it is unable to effectively replenish its supplies. The same is true for the EU, which has admitted its pledge of one million artillery shells was nothing but wishful thinking due to the woeful state of its production capacity. It’s really a joke that North Korea can provide Russia with million shells and the whole Europe – not!
America is not much better. First, delay on supplying arms and artificial red lines in using it allowed Russia to set up the defensive lines that created the current stalemate. Now we have mess in the Congress, where some members are actively obstructing vital military aid to Ukraine and by this helping Putin to reach his goals in the “war against Anglo-Saxons” how he calls it.

If we lose, Putin will not stop. He will see the West’s weakness and he will continue his warmongering path through Europe. Putin only acknowledges military force and strength. Tyrants are geopolitical maniacs, they never stop, that only can be stopped.

This is not just “Ukraine’s war” as too many foolishly believe. This is a war for the future of the Europe and the world. Ukraine cannot win without the world’s support and Putin will not stop at Ukraine if he wins. Look at his allies: the murderous regimes in North Korea and Iran, their proxies and standing behind them China. Are these the countries you want gaining ground in the world?
