While dining out is always a pleasure, mounting financial pressures from soaring energy costs and rising everyday expenses mean fewer people can afford regular restaurant visits. So any chance to trim spending on meals out is increasingly welcomed.
TikTok content creator Callum Ryan, who boasts 1.1 million followers on the platform and frequently shares money-saving tips and travel advice alongside other engaging content, has recently exposed a clever method to reduce costs at one of Britain’s most beloved restaurant chains. The clip, which has racked up more than 766,000 views and 43,600 comments, sees Callum unveiling a clever ‘hack’ for buying food at Nando’s, reports the Mirror. In the footage, Callum explained: “This Nando’s hack gets you a full meal for only £12.50. Yep, just like the good old days.
“So, my usual order is a butterfly chicken with two sides, and that normally comes to £16.20. But here’s the hack.
“Simply flip over the menu and order two Nandinos kids meals. Each one comes with a chicken breast, a side, and a drink, so for £12.50 you end up with two chicken breasts, two big sides, and two drinks.”
Nandinos is the restaurant’s children’s offering, providing reduced portions of dishes from the standard menu. The footage reveals Callum being served two children’s meals, complete with sides and two cartons of apple juice – an unusual choice for many, but he seems to enjoy it. He then combines the two meals into one.
“It’s literally more food than my usual meal because I’m getting two drinks included and it’s cheaper,” he explained. “I just grab a plate, dish it all up together, and boom, it looks like my regular Nando’s order.”
Opinions were split over the ‘hack’ in the comments section. One user wrote: “Every Nando’s I’ve been to, they don’t let me order Nandinos.”
Another responded: “Say you have a small stomach and can’t eat loads they can’t refuse x.”
A third suggested: “Order on app instead and it’ll come to your table. They won’t be able to refuse the meal then.”
One person said: “Game’s gone now, either they put up the prices on the kids menu or they’ll make an age verification type thing, mark my words.”
Another echoed: “Only a matter of time till they put the kids prices up too.”
A different user commented: “Crazy that getting a meal for £12.50 is considered a ‘hack’ in 2025.”
Another said: “Nando’s is finished. Too expensive for chicken and chips/rice.”
And another joked: “The baffled look on their face when u order your Nandinos extra hot.”
