Mum charged for death of baby Halo Branton shared disturbing Facebook posts before arrest

The mother of a kidnapped baby, Halo Branton, uploaded a number of troubling Facebook posts hours before she was arrested causing the death of her child.

Persia Nelson, 24, has been accused of second-degree manslaughter after allegedly dropping her child down a pipe access area in New York.

The incident sparked a massive search after authorities were informed that the 11-month old baby had been kidnapped.

The search was called off after Halo was found and rushed to the hospital, but sadly it was later confirmed that the child had tragically passed away.

Lieutenant Ryan Macherone of The Schenectady Police Department confirmed the infant’s death.

Nelson’s disturbing Facebook posts have now become public, as she proclaimed that she was “drunk asf” and “crazy” only hours before her arrest.

In one post, Nelson joked about her child’s name, referring to her as “Crotch Goblin.”

In another, she said: “I’m drunk asf don’t play with me right now lmfaooo.”

Responding to another post, the mum said: “Nah im literally crazy don’t play with it.”

Halo went missing on March 9 from Schenectady, New York, prompting an Amber Alert and a widespread search.

The allegations against Nelson are based on a police investigation and “video evidence.”

During a 10-minute arraignment, Nelson pleaded not guilty to the manslaughter charge.

The prosecutor stated that Nelson had dumped the baby down the pipe access area, leaving her there to die.

She faces the possibility of additional charges pending the completion of an autopsy.

Nelson’s bail has been set at $500,000 cash and $1 million bond, with her next court date scheduled for March 14.
