Multiple people have been shot outside Alabama’s Legion Field football stadium. The shooting occurred just minutes after the annual Magic City Classic ended.
Victims were shot near the 400 block of Graymont Avenue at around 7.50pm, Birmingham Police confirmed. A spokesperson said: “All Magic City Classic tailgating has been suspended. Everyone needs to leave the stadium property as soon as possible. Please do not come to the Legion Field stadium property at this time.”
The area has been cordoned off, with members of the public asked to avoid the area. The 85th annual Magic City Classic saw Alabama A&M defeat Alabama State 31-28 to end a four-game losing streak against their rivals.
Those injured have been rushed to hospital by ambulance. Their conditions are currently unknown.
