The incredible moment a single Ukrainian soldier fought off a squad of six Russian invaders has been captured on video by a surveillance drone.
Footage shared on Telegram shows the soldier – dubbed ‘The Godfather’ – standing his ground against the Russian unit.
Apparently wearing just a T-shirt and combat trousers, he can be seen lifting his gun high above his head and firing multiple rounds at the Russians, who cower in trenches.

The soldier is from the K-2 combat group, which is part of Ukraine’s celebrated 54th Mechanized Brigade. His call sign is Kum – a Slavic word which can mean ‘godfather’, ‘best man’ or a ‘blood brother’.
He skillfully uses the higher ground to defend his position from the Russians. As the battle rages on, he dodges bullets and leaps into a trench for cover.
He then presses on with his attack – and, despite being hugely outnumbered, turns the tide against the Russians.
They soon lose heart and retreat to a nearby woodland.
