In a hair-raising display, a daredevil e-scooter rider was caught on camera braving a treacherous journey along the Aston Expressway in Birmingham during the violent throes of Storm Darragh.
As the city endured the wrath of 60mph winds, the individual was spotted riding down the road at 10mph.
Dressed in a long black coat and balaclava, the rider nonchalantly navigated the centre lane of the motorway amid the dark and stormy conditions.
The astonishing footage was captured by the Birmz Is Grime blog on Saturday, December 7.
It was the same day tragedy struck Birmingham after a man was killed when a tree collapsed on his car.
Social media reactions varied from astonishment to humour, with one observer quipping: “How the f*** did he stay on that in these winds?”
Others couldn’t resist drawing comparisons to superheroes, jesting: “The budget hit Batman hard too.. downsized to a scooter”, and “His Batmobile was repossessed”.
Another asked: “Is that Darth Vader heading downtown for the fancy dress Christmas do?”
The video, having gone viral, has racked up thousands of views as social media users look on in a mix of shock and bemusement at the dangerous stunt.
West Midlands Police has been approached for comment.
