Horrifying footage shows a huge brawl “over chicken tenders” on a Carnival cruise ship as young passengers use their shoes for weapons. Chaos unravelled at a buffet among holidaymakers as footage on social media shows a group in a physical altercation over food. The video shows fellow travellers standing there looking stunned as security guards attempted to intervene.
One is seen turning away and reaching for his walkie talkie, while one panicked onlooker can be heard shouting “where the f*** is security?”. People took off their shoes and used them as weapons, the footage shows, as phones can be seen flying across the restaurant’s buffet area. The video has since gone viral online, as people flocked to the comments in disbelief.
Mike Terra captured the chaotic scene which is circulating social media, and can be heard in the video saying: “Over chicken tenders is crazy”.
He said: “I always hear Carnival is ghetto/ratchet. I have been cruising for years but this my first time seeing some action on a ship I was on.”
The onlooker added that the brawl began at around 2am on the ship which had recently set sail from Miami.
Viewers of the video responded in the comments in horror, saying: “Well, lo and behold, another CARNIVAL CRUISE looking like the circus it has truly become.”
While another user commented in confusion: “There is literally a never-ending supply of chicken tenders on the ship.”
Carnival cruises had recently introduced a plethora of new policies to tackle the well-known poor behaviour displayed among passengers. These include a new curfew policy which prohibits travellers under the age of 17 onboard from being outside of their cabins after 1am, without a passenger over the age of 21 years old.
The company said: “The safety and security of our guests, team members, the destinations we visit and the waters in which we travel are imbedded in our company’s value and guides our operations.
“Cruise ships are a shared space, and all guests are expected to treat others with respect.”
