A mother is believed to have shot and killed her 9-year-old son before turning the gun on herself in an “unthinkable” murder-suicide on Monday, according to police.

Shatayvia Alisha Calderon, 33, and Julian Calderon, 9, were found dead with gunshot wounds in their Indianapolis apartment on Monday afternoon, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

A police spokesperson told The Post the incident is “believed to be a murder-suicide in which the mother killed her son and then herself.”

“This is unthinkable. And we’re here to not only investigate, but to provide resources, as well. Not only here on scene, but in the days, weeks that follow this,” Officer Drew Brown told WTHR.

Police responded to a 911 call reporting two people had been shot in a condominium complex in the 4400 block of Village Lane just after 1 p.m., according to IMPD.

Inside an apartment, they discovered the mom and son who were declared dead on the spot by medical officials. A gun was also recovered at the scene.

It was not immediately clear what led up to the shooting but police confirmed that they have been interviewing a cooperative witness.
