A Missouri substitute teacher said she lost her job over having an OnlyFans account to make extra cash — because educating alone wasn’t paying the bills.
Sheena Sittner had been making X-rated content on OnlyFans alongside her job as a substitute teacher for the past two years, but her side gig was finally discovered, likely by somebody who “did some deep-dive digging,” she told KTVI.
“If teachers were paid better, women wouldn’t have to resort to online content creation,” Sittner said. “Sex sells.”
While the St. Louis County mother always knew posting to the adult platform put her teaching job at risk, she never expected the blowback that would ensue.
Sittner was allegedly warned in an email by Kelly Education — the contractor which hired her — that she’s under suspension, pending termination and must “refrain from contacting any school or districts,” according to the outlet.
“It’s like all of a sudden I’ve done something so wrong and sinful that I’m not even allowed [to] volunteer at his school,” Sittner said, referring to her own son’s school.
“I can find another job. I can handle the backlash and the criticism, but when it affects my child or my children, that’s where I draw the line,” she said.
Sittner, however, said her online work never interferes with her role as a mom.
“My personal life is completely separate from my professional life. I have kept those two separate forever,” she said.
Although Sittner knew her X-rated content would eventually be discovered “because whatever you put online, it’s on there forever,” she never could have imagined being “completely stripped away from being at my kid’s school.”
“It’s funny because I’ve had this account, this OnlyFans account, for two-plus years,” she said.
“So, whoever did find it did some deep-dive digging, because two years later and now it’s being found out.”
A spokesperson for Sittner’s school district confirmed she should be treated as any other parent with the ability to volunteer and participate as she had passed a background check and completed mandated online safety training, KTVI reported.
Sittner’s contractor, Kelly Education, clarified to the outlet that its warning to refrain from school contact only applies to her professional role as a substitute teacher.
“It does not, and cannot, limit anyone’s right as a parent. Nothing in our request restricts their participation in their child’s education,” the company told the publication.
