Heroes, zeros and the full blitz from the Jets’ 38-33 loss to the Raiders on Sunday:
Hero
Kirk Cousins — who was nearly a Jet once upon a time — threw for 247 yards and three touchdowns, including the fourth-quarter go-ahead score to Jalen Nailor.
Zero
Calling defensive plays was supposed to be head coach Aaron Glenn’s “superpower.” It looked like Kryptonite as the Jets allowed 236 second-half yards and four scoring drives of at least nine plays each.
Unsung Hero
Dylan Laube, a Westhampton Beach native, returned a kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown just after the Jets had extended their lead to 13-7 with a field goal.
Key Stat
4: The number of touchdowns the Raiders scored on four trips into the red zone while the Jets scored two touchdowns on six red zone trips.
Quote
“Jets being Jets.” — Minkah Fitzpatrick on the Jets making too many mistakes on defense and beating themselves.
