Migrant stabbed on overcrowded dinghy crossing Channel as 400 picked up by Border Force

A migrant has been rushed to hospital after being stabbed on board an overcrowded dinghy crossing the English Channel. Hundreds of people were caught sailing in eight small boats trying to make it to Britain on Wednesday.

Border Force officials said the organisation intercepted the 400 migrants, with the alarm raised for the man when he was brought to shore at the Port of Dover.

No arrests have yet been made over the stabbing. A Kent Police spokesman said: “At 12.52pm on March 20, Kent Police received a report of a man with injuries consistent with stab wounds, following the arrival of a small boat at Dover Western Docks.

“The man has been taken to hospital with injuries which are not described as life-threatening and officers are carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances, including where, when and how the injuries were sustained.”
