Anti-migrant protesters gathered outside two hotels in England – the Bell Hotel in Epping and the Britannia in London Canary Wharf – on Sunday afternoon. A large police presence was seen outside the London hotel, where the Metropolitan Police imposed conditions using Section 14.

A statement issued by the force read: “We have imposed conditions using Section 14 of the Public Order Act to prevent serious disruption at the protests in Canary Wharf. The group protesting against the use of the hotel by asylum seekers have been instructed to remain on the pavement opposite the Britannia Hotel.” In Epping, dozens of protesters also gathered outside the Bell Hotel, which has been at the centre of a major debate about housing asylum seekers and clashes over the past several weeks.
