An rescue operation is under way in the English Channel after the Coast Guard scrambled a helicopter to “incidents in the channel”
The RNLI have confirmed their involvement in “incidents in the Channel” on Tuesday afternoon.
An RNLI spokesperson said: “RNLI lifeboats have been tasked by HM Coastguard to incidents in the Channel today.”
Two of their vessels could be seen on a marine tracker heading to a possible rescue site around 10 miles from the coast.
Two coastguard vans and ambulances are waiting to receive migrants at the Port of Dover.
