A hospital in the USA has been placed on lockdown following reports of an armed gunman prowling the premises. Staff and visitors at Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital in Michigan are said to be hiding in fear. The situation remains unclear, with no confirmation as yet if any shots have been fired. Police were alerted to the incident at 8am local time following reports of a shooting.
Staff received a chilling message warning them of an active shooter in the “parking structure”. The message read: “THIS IS AN EMERGENCY — There is an ACTIVE SHOOTER Troy Hospital in the Parking Structure building. Police are en route. Please take immediate personal safety measure and follow the run, hide, fight guidelines. For those not currently at the facility, stay away. Do not return to the facility until the all clear has been signalled.”
