The Met Office has issued yellow weather warnings for wind in 11 regions on Monday, August 4.
The weather agency said Storm Floris is likely to bring a spell of “unseasonably strong and potentially disruptive winds” to northern UK from Monday into early Tuesday.
A yellow weather warning means buildings could be damaged, such as tiles being blown from roofs. It also warned flying debris and large waves could cause injuries and possible danger to life.
Power cuts may happen, which could impact services such as mobile phone coverage.
Some roads and bridge closures may disrupt driving, while road, rail, air, and ferry services may be affected, with longer journey times and cancellations possible.
