The much-awaited Oscars red carpet could be the “perfect place” for Meghan Markle to promote her upcoming Netflix release, ‘With Love, Meghan’ on March 4, it has been claimed.

A PR expert said if the Duchess of Sussex decides to attend, it would “make a statement” that she is determined to build her new brand away from the royals.

The comments come amid speculation the Duke and Duchess of Sussex could attend the ceremony later this week on Sunday held in Los Angeles this year to “celebrate the work that unites us as a global film community and acknowledge those who fought so bravely against the wildfires”.

Speaking to Sportsbook Review about a potential appearance, PR expert, Lynn Carratt said: “It would show that not only is she focused on building her own brand away from the Royals, especially if she attends solo, but make a statement that she has every intention of reinserting herself back into the world of entertainment in a nod to her past life.”

The PR expert explains it was rumoured the Academy Awards reached out to the duo to attend last year, but the pair were a “no show”, having “no reason” to attend at the time.

Ms Carratt further added: “The Academy Awards red carpet could be the perfect place for Meghan to plug her latest project, especially with the film featuring many of her A-list pals from her days on screen.

“Her appearance at the Oscars – the pinnacle of awards season – would definitely have people talking, putting all eyes on her and generating wide scale attention at a key moment for her.

“With only one project left as part of her and Harry’s five-year deal with Netflix, attending the Oscars would be a clever PR move by Meghan to boost viewing figures and ensure these final projects are a success.”

Meghan Markle decided to delay her Netflix show release due to the devastation caused by the Los Angeles wildfires.

The Duchess said last month: “I’m thankful to my partners at Netflix for supporting me in delaying the launch, as we focus on the needs of those impacted by the wildfires in my home state of California.”

In the eight episodes, Meghan will share personal tips and tricks, including cooking and gardening, while having conversations with some friends. Guests include Roy Choi, Mindy Kaling, Alice Waters, as well as other acclaimed chefs.

Recently, the mum-of-two, has been accused by fans of copying TV star, Pamela Anderson’s own cooking show, after they spotted similarities between the trailers for her series and Meghan Markle’s.

Eagle-eyed viewers have since noticed how the Duchess’ teaser seems very similar to the trailer for Pamela’s show, titled a similar name – Cooking With Love.

The openings of both trailers include the hosts walking in a garden admiring the produce, before inviting chefs into the kitchens as well as family and friends to try out the delicious meals. In the clips, Pamela says how “I just always have wanted to take things to another level”, while Meghan similarly declares: “I’ve always loved taking something pretty ordinary and elevating it.”

However, defenders of the Duchess insist the closeness of the release dates, and the tight production schedules, could only mean any similarities in the shows are coincidental, rather than deliberate.
