Meghan Markle, known for her fondness of jewellery, has added a new piece to her collection and the mystery surrounding it has been unravelled.

Observant fans noticed that during her appearance at the Invictus Games with Prince Harry, the Duchess of Sussex was seen wearing a new signet ring on her right pinky finger.

The ring appears to be engraved with the couple’s Royal monogram, unveiled at their 2018 wedding, consisting of intertwined ‘H’ and ‘M’ letters, topped with a coronet featuring two cross pattées, four fleurs-de-lys and two strawberry leaves.

It has now been disclosed that the ring was a gift from Harry himself.

People magazine reports that the Duke purchased the ring for their sixth wedding anniversary last year from a private jeweller.

The Royal emblem was previously used on their Sussex Royal website and social media accounts, although it seems they replaced it with the Archewell logo on their stationery several years ago.

Royal expert and biographer Ingrid Seward suggests that this new piece of jewellery is certainly making a statement – particularly to the Royal Family.

Speaking to the Mirror, she said: “Traditionally signet rings have a larger face than the one Meghan is wearing, but there is no reason why she can’t use her royal cypher on an article of jewellery.

“I don’t think it has any particular significance apart from the snob value of reminding people that she has a royal cypher.”

She added: “I think Meghan wants to be accepted by the firm for the sake of the children.

“The Royal family must know she will never go away so the less fuss they make about what she does the less attention is focussed on her.”

The ring was also spotted on Meghan’s hand in a video she shared on Instagram, offering a peek at her children as they crafted heart-shaped treats for Valentine’s Day.

The Duchess posted a clip of herself and her children preparing Valentine’s themed food, set to the tune of L-O-V-E by Nat King Cole.

The mother-of-two demonstrated her culinary prowess, decorating pink snacks with her daughter Lilibet before taking the plate outside, trailed by her son Archie.

In line with the couple’s privacy efforts, neither child’s face is visible in the video.

Meghan celebrated Valentine’s Day by sharing an intimate photo of herself and Prince Harry on Instagram, accompanied by the caption: “Back home taking care of our babies, and missing my Valentine, as he continues on at the Invictus Games, changing lives and reminding all of us of the power of healing and resilience through these incredible veterans and their families. Beyond proud of my husband and what he’s created.”

Meghan also expressed affection for Harry’s dining companions, telling him: “My love, I will eat burgers and fries and fish and chips with you forever. Thank you for you.”
