Meghan Markle was joined by Daniel Martin in episode one of her new eight-part series, With Love, Meghan.
Referring to him as her “dear friend”, Meghan, 43, also revealed that her children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, refer to him as their “uncle”.
Meghan’s new series, which was originally scheduled to air back in January, was released earlier today, March 4.
Make-up artist Daniel worked alongside Meghan from her wedding day in 2018 until 2022.
Speaking of their friendship, Meghan said: “We’ve known each other for a very long time.”
“When it comes to Daniel, we’ve been friends for maybe 15 years.
“When I first had my job on Suits, and I started going to events, he was doing my makeup for that. We far transcended make-up and just became friends.
“And he has just been in my life for before, during and after, shall we say, and he’s very much a mainstay.”
Speaking of Archie, five, and Lilibet, three, she added: “Uncle Daniel, the kids call him.”
Taking to her Instagram, just hours before the episodes aired on Netflix, Meghan shared a picture of flowers and a sweet handwritten card that she received from Prince Harry, Archie and Lilibet – also affectionately known as Lili.
The note, handwritten on pink paper, read: “Congratulations Mumma! We love your show, and we love you! Lili, Archie [and] Papa xxx.”
As she prepared for the launch of With Love, Meghan – which consists of eight episodes – Meghan made a surprise appearance at a special screening of her series in New York City.
