Meghan Markle’s sold-out, £22 rosé was tested and compared to seven other A-listers who have released their own vino, but it failed to reach the top spot. The Duchess of Sussex released her first-ever wine, on As Ever, to much fanfare on July 1.
Meghan’s rosé, sourced from California’s Napa Valley, was a bespoke blend and, according to the brand’s description, featured “soft notes of stone fruit, gentle minerality, and a lasting finish”. The wine came in batches of three, six and twelve, with each bottle costing £22 ($30) and £66 ($90), £116 ($159) and £218 ($300) in total and while it was only available to purchase in the US, it managed to sell out within 45 minutes.
It was available to purchase only within the US with a £15 ($20) flat-rate shipping, which would have undoubtedly disappointed fans elsewhere in the world. It could also be shipped to Hawaii with additional charges.

Various people have given their verdict about the wine, with some admitting they’re big fans, while others were left less pleased.
But a new review gathered eight rosés released by famous figures around the world and ranked them, leaving the Duchess with a very mediocre score.
The Mail’s Jane Herz and Emily Lefroy, who originally gave the wine a bad review, calling it “bland and almost watery,” said they wanted to be fair to the Duchess and put all eight wines to the test, ranking them from first for their taste, price, and overall look.
The wines reviewed included those of Brad Pitt, Kylie Minogue, John Legend, Cameron Diaz, and Snoop Dog among others.
But while Meghan’s wine did not get the top spot, it did not plummet to the bottom either.

Ranking it fourth, the Mail’s team said Meghan’s wine was the one that the team disagreed with the most, with some people finding it liked its smooth taste and pleasant finish, and others saying it was “ordinary, leaving a bitter and acidic aftertaste”.
They gave it a not-so-pleasant verdict, saying: “The perfect way to describe this rosé is that it tastes like something you would be served at a work happy hour.
“The wine didn’t taste like you bought it at a fancy vineyard, where it’s supposed to be made.
“Instead, it tasted affordable and ordinary. It’s not good, but it’s not terrible.”
The worst wine on the list was John Legend’s LVE rosé, £19, which was said to taste “sharp, sour and highly acidic” and more like “rubbing alcohol than a nice, crisp rosé”.
The reviewers wrote: “We’d rather drink three bottles of Meghan’s than drink one glass of Legend’s.”

However, three spots on top of Meghan’s rank, there was another celebrity wine that reigned supreme – Cameron Diaz’ own Avaline rosé, £18.
It was praised for its crispy, very light, zesty and super smooth” taste, with the group adding that it was “absolutely amazing” and very “easy to sip on”.
They concluded: “It would be fantastic over ice on a hot July evening. 10/10, Cameron Diaz! “
The celebrity rosés ranked:
8. John Legend – LVE, £19
7. Bethenny Frankel – Forever Young rosé, £17
6. Snoop Dog – 19 Crimes, £11
5. Kylie Minogue – Côtes de Provence rosé, £15
4. Meghan Markle – As Ever rosé, £22
3. Brad Pitt – Miraval, £19
2. Bon Jovi – Hampton Water, £19
1. Cameron Diaz – Avaline rosé, £18
