Meghan Markle’s sold-out £22 wine may be on the pricier side than other celebrity wines, but it is not the only thing that’s higher compared to them. The Duchess of Sussex launched her brand’s rosé on July 1, with bottles getting sold out within the hour.

As Ever’s rosé, sourced from California’s Napa Valley, is a bespoke blend and, according to the brand’s description, features “soft notes of stone fruit, gentle minerality, and a lasting finish”. It came in batches of three, six and twelve, with each bottle costing £22 ($30) and £66 ($90), £116 ($159) and £218 ($300) in total. Meghan’s wine was priced higher than other celebrities’, but its alcohol percentage was also higher—an eye-catching 14.5%.

For comparison, Kylie Minogue’s rosé retails at around £9 per bottle and it’s Alcohol By Volume (ABV) is 11%, while Post Malone’s Maison No. 9 costs around £20 with 12% ABV.

In addition, Brad Pitt’s Miraval Rosé has an ABV of 12.5% and retails at around £20, while Sarah Jessica Parker’s Invivo X is priced at around £15 and has the same alcohol percentage.

According to the Drink Aware charity, most wines have an ABV of around 11-14%.

Meghan’s rosé was available to purchase only within the US with a £15 ($20) flat-rate shipping, which would have undoubtedly disappointed fans elsewhere in the world.

It could also be shipped to Hawaii with additional charges.

As Ever’s latest product received mixed reviews, with some fans being impressed by its taste, and others dubbing it “bland”.

On the website, As Ever described the new product: “A delicately balanced rosé with soft notes of stone fruit, gentle minerality, and a lasting finish.

“Reminiscent of the finest Provençal styles, it’s crisp, pale in colour, and effortlessly elegant — crafted for slow afternoons and golden-hour gatherings.

“This rosé captures the essence of sun-drenched outdoor moments through its thoughtfully crafted blend.”
