Meghan Markle's 'vulnerable' interview was moment dynamic with Royal Family changed

Meghan Markle’s honest words about the tough times she faced in the Royal spotlight left everyone at the Palace speechless.

Prince Harry and Meghan’s exit from Royal duties shocked the globe, but signs were there before they left.

The big change for them can be traced to a moment in 2019 when Meghan talked with Tom Bradby on their trip to South Africa.

They were being filmed for the ITV show “Harry and Meghan: An African Journey” which was about their journey in Africa, but viewers couldn’t believe it when Meghan shared how “sad” she was.

While talking to Tom, Meghan told him how hard it was to deal with being famous and having everyone write about her when she was pregnant and just had a baby.

“And, also thank you for asking, because not many people have asked if I’m OK,” she added. “But it’s a very real thing to be going through behind the scenes.”

Tom then asked: “And the answer is, would it be fair to say, not really OK, as in it’s really been a struggle?”

Meghan simply and quickly replied: “Yes.”

The Palace and Royal Family members were really surprised by what she said, with Meghan also being surprised at how much attention came from the interview.

Meghan talked about this on the Teenager Therapy podcast for World Mental Health Day in October 2020.

She shared that she was super tired from looking after baby Archie, and that’s why she said what she did.

Meghan explained: “Man, I was tired. I was just about to give Archie a bath…I was exhausted…Between every official engagement I was running back to make sure our son was fed.

“At the very end, the journalist asked me, ‘Are you OK? ‘ and I didn’t realise that my answer would receive such interest around the world.”
