Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been left with a major blow this week after it was reported that Netflix will not be renewing their £78 million deal with the couple when it ends in September. Since quitting royal life in 2020 and moving to America, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have had to carve their own path financially, something they said they wanted when leaving the Firm.

Since then, Meghan, 43, and Harry, 40, have signed numerous deals, with their five-year Netflix deal being amongst the biggest. However, with news that the streaming giant is now not set to renew this when it ends in just two months, the couple will no doubt be left feeling a bit worried.

While they have other sources of income to fund their Montecito lifestyle, including from Meghan’s As Ever brand, Harry and Meghan will almost certainly be considering future business moves.

With Prince Harry having already released a memoir in 2023 that not only shocked the world but made a good sum of money too, many are set to be wondering whether the duchess could be tempted to release her own memoir.

This is something Meghan herself addressed just a few months ago during a podcast interview with Hollywood friend Jamie Kern Lima in April.

When talking about whether she would write a memoir, Prince Harry’s wife gave a surprising 11-word verdict.

She said: “I’ve got a lot more life to live before I’m there.”

Last year, an insider revealed that the duchess had already been approached about a memoir, which would come with a “massive paycheck” for Meghan.

The insider told Closer magazine: “The word in publishing circles is that everyone’s mad to land Meghan’s memoirs and the numbers being thrown around are ridiculously high.

“We’re talking tens of millions for her authorised biography – it’s going to get to the point where she can’t say no.

“And love her or hate her, there’s no denying that she has an insight into the royals that no one else can share.”
