Meghan Markle's subtle 'husband' hint she put on when she first went out with Prince Harry

Meghan Markle gave a cheeky nod to her future with Prince Harry during their first outing together in Canada. The couple, who are always a hit with fans, were spotted at the Invictus Vancouver Whistler 2025 One Year To Go event last month.

This was after Prince Harry rushed back from the UK because of his dad’s health scare.

Harry is passionate about Invictus – a sports event he started for injured soldiers in London in 2014. It was also at this event that he first showed off Meghan – who was his girlfriend at the time.

In 2017, they went to watch tennis at the Invictus Games in Toronto. Meghan, who was living there, wore an outfit that got everyone talking.

She had on some trendy ripped jeans and comfy ballet shoes, matched with a smart white shirt by her designer friend Misha Nonoo.

The shirt cost $185 and it was called the “husband” shirt. Back then, Meghan and Harry weren’t even engaged yet, so people were buzzing about whether her shirt was a hint about them getting married soon.

The Daily Mail said it might be “perhaps a subtle indication by Meghan that she won’t be a single lady for much longer”.

The happy couple, Harry and Meghan, were seen holding hands and chatting as they walked to court for their first public outing together. They made headlines all over the world.

A Royal insider shared at the time: “It was a calm fun atmosphere for the competitors and their families which was the most important thing.”

Just a few months later, the world heard about Harry and Meghan’s engagement. They got married in May 2018 at St George’s Chapel in Windsor.

Since then, they worked as royals, left their Royal duties, had two kids, and now live in sunny California.

Prince Harry has said he will come back to the UK soon. He visited London last month to see his dad, King Charles, after hearing about his cancer.

Harry plans to be in London again soon to mark 10 years of the Invictus Games. People think he will come in May for a special event at St Paul’s Cathedral.

While speaking on Good Morning America in Canada, Harry mentioned: “I have got other trips planned that would take me through the UK or back to the UK, so you know, I’ll stop in and see my family as much as I can.”

There’s talk that Harry wants Meghan and their little ones, Archie and Lilibet, to join him when he visits Britain.
