Meghan Markle’s new Netflix show was released nearly two weeks ago. While many of her loyal fans have supported “With Love, Meghan” and shown plenty of appreciation for Meghan’s work, critics are still pointing out aspects of the eight-episode series they do not like.
However, according to one expert, the reason why a number of British people may not have enjoyed the show is because it is missing one key thing they know and love. James Holton, Consumer Behaviour and Social Media Expert at GrowthScribe, said that the show did not have “self-depreciating humour”, which may be one of the reason the majority of the British public did not seem taken by the cooking series.
He said: “The British audience loves understated and self-depreciating humour, which was missing from Meghan’s show.
“It feels overly curated and seems performative rather than authentic.
“I’d also like to call it a case of hype fatigue, where UK audiences, saturated by years of Meghan overload, crave novelty, not recycled royal vibes.
“Brits prioritise value-driven content and Meghan’s show felt tone deaf, especially at a time when inflation is high.”
While the show was widely criticised, it’s important to note that many enjoyed the series and were delighted to find out it was being renewed for a second season.
One fan wrote on X: “Excellent. Such a good show.”
Another said: “I’m so excited to watch the second season of With Love! Meghan is absolutely stunning and her presence brings such grace and charm to the show. I was captivated by her warmth and elegance, and she truly shines on screen. A 2nd season is going to be even more amazing!”
