Meghan Markle’s pal Christopher Bouzy has lashed out at all of the “online trolls and conspiracy theorists” and urged them to stop their “vicious campaign” against the Duchess, following the backlash of her twerking video. The Duchess of Sussex made headlines earlier this month when she uploaded a highly unusual video of herself and Prince Harry in hospital dancing to Starrkeisha’s The Baby Momma Dance in order to induce labour, shortly before Princess Lilibet’s arrival.
The video was mostly criticised by fans and royal watchers, with several of them describing it as “cringe”. Others accused her of her bump not looking real and questioned her athletic performance while nine months pregnant.
But now, one of her pals, tech entrepreneur Christopher Bouzy, came to Meghan’s defence and said the online “trolls” have made her life a “nightmare”.
Mr Bouzy, who appeared in the Sussexes’s bombshell Netflix docuseries, Harry & Meghan, said that the Duchess’s “lighthearted video” was “weaponised” by trolls who “twisted it into ammunition” for accusations against her.
He wrote in Newsweek: “When Meghan Markle posted a lighthearted video of herself dancing in a hospital room while nine months pregnant, she probably thought she was sharing a relatable moment that other mothers would appreciate.
“Instead, within hours, online trolls and conspiracy theorists weaponised it as ‘proof’ she was never pregnant at all.
“This nightmare is what Meghan’s life has become. Every joyful moment gets twisted into ammunition by people who’ve made destroying her their full-time job.”
He said that Meghan’s “only crime was falling in love with a prince,” and blasted those who questioned whether the Duchess’s pregnancy was real.
He said: “Imagine being nine months pregnant, your body aching, preparing to bring life into the world, and thousands of strangers are dissecting your every photo to ‘prove’ your baby isn’t real.”
Elsewhere, he hit out at the “moonbump” conspiracy, saying it is a “special kind of cruelty” and praised the Duchess for sharing her miscarriage story.
Mr Bouzy added: “This isn’t normal criticism. It’s psychological torture designed to break someone’s spirit. And the worst part? These aren’t random acts of cruelty. They’re coordinated, monetised, and amplified by people who profit from Meghan’s pain.”
However, while Mr Bouzy has repeatedly fought criticism and “cruelty” against the Sussexes, he has previously made scathing comments about the Prince and Princess of Wales himself.
In 2021, he called Prince William a “balding muppet,” while during the same year, he said that the Prince and Princess of Wales “look like Harry’s aunt and uncle”.
Last year, he accused the Royal Family of “lying” and described Kate’s cancer diagnosis video as “North Korea/Trumpian type of propaganda.”
