Meghan Markle's new career move shows she 'has to be in the limelight'

A royal expert has claimed that Meghan Markle’s decision to set up a lifestyle brand shows that she has to be in the limelight.

Earlier this month, Meghan launched her American Riviera Orchard lifestyle brand on the same day as the Diana Award attended by both Prince Harry and Prince William.

Royal expert Angela Levin told GB News this showed she “has to be in the limelight”. She explained: “She took away Harry’s spotlight on the day of his mother’s charity.

“He loves his mother, he still feels they’re in connection with the heavens. He feels like Meghan has sort of replaced her. I think to spoil that occasion for your husband and take that limelight from him is beyond cruel.”

Ms Levin’s comments come as Meghan begins one of her new projects in 2024 after an eventful 2023 for her and Prince Harry.

Some experts believe that 2024 could potentially be the year that Harry and Meghan improve their relations with senior members of the Royal Family. However, there is a lot of work to be done following the release of Prince Harry’s Memoir Spare last year.

According to one PR Guru, there are two ways they can endear themselves to other senior royals and rebuild trust in their brand.

Speaking to Closer, Carla Speight explained: “Harry and Meghan need to stay away from the Hollywood limelight and avoid the British celebrity circuit.

“They need to focus on the kind of humanitarian work that seems to get overshadowed by all the tabloid gossip and drama that is always revolving around them.”

Ms Speight added: “They still perform duties as if they were royals, they still promote and support a lot of charities, as they would do if they were in The Firm.”

Despite the events of recent years, Prince Harry has been keen to support King Charles as he battles cancer. Soon after his diagnosis, Prince Harry flew to visit the King for a meeting which lasted for less than an hour.

Ms Speight said that once the couple has in part rebuilt their relationship with the public, they will be able to spend more time with the King.

She told the Mirror: “Once they’ve succeeded in reminding people of the humanitarians and deep love that is at the heart of their relationship, they will have the opportunity to spend more time with Charles during his cancer battle.”

Ms Speight also said that although they are not the most popular royals, they can still recover. She said: “All is not lost for the couple, despite a rough few years, they still have many supporters out there and the public is growing tired of the constant bashing they are getting.

“They don’t need a rebrand, they need to refocus the attention on what good they do.

“Now that Kate and William are at the heart of the wrath of the global press and public, the timing for Harry and Meghan to focus attention on the positives in their work lives and what makes them well received amongst supporters couldn’t be any more pressing.”
