Meghan Markle may be getting excited for the release of her new Netflix show this week, however not everyone is likely to be feeling the same. The Duchess of Sussex’s new show “With Love, Meghan” will air on Netflix on Tuesday, with eight episodes for fans to enjoy. While plenty of people across the globe are likely to be tuning in to see Meghan, 43, cook and host for her celebrity friends, one royal expert believes members of the Royal Family will not be among them.
Since Meghan and Prince Harry, 40, quit royal life in 2020 and moved overseas to America, relationships between the couple and some of Harry’s royal relatives have been strained, with this likely to be one of the reasons they are unlikely to sit down to watch the duchess on TV screens. This was the view put forward by former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond, who believes the royals will not be interested in the Netflix series as she is likely to now be “irrelevant” to them.
She told the Mirror: “I doubt if anyone from the Royal Family will bother to watch it. Nor will they give any consideration to the next phase of her life.
“I really feel she has made herself irrelevant to the rest of the family.”
This comment from Jennie comes after it was previously revealed by an insider that the Royal Family want the show to be a success for Meghan.
This is reportedly in the hope that she will not have to revert back to talking publicly about the Royal Family.
Richard Eden wrote in The Daily Mail: “Courtiers tell me that members of the Royal Family actually hope the American duchess’s eight-part series will be a hit when it is released.”
He continued: “Everyone wants it to be a success. And that’s because, if it is, she and Harry won’t need to exploit their royal connections again.”
Meghan’s new series will hit TV screens on March 4.
It is likely that Prince Harry will make a few small appearances in the series along with his wife and her celebrity friends.
