She wrote after the event: “This was such an exciting career highlight for me to sit up on stage in the beautiful Godmothers Bookstore, in front of the most engaged and smiling audience, to share about our new book and to answer questions about how we can create a home for our family that is filled with joy and intention.
“Thank you to @godmothersbooks for hosting and to my longtime friend @meghan for joining and supporting me. I hardly slept last night from all the excitement!”
While the event focused mainly on Courtney’s book, Meghan was also able to share her own tips and tricks for how to make a home joyful.
She said: “First thing I do when I wake up in the morning is turn the music on in the house. I always travel with a candle. I am so conscious and sensitive to fragrance and I associate that with home.”
Meghan also said that she likes to greet guests “barefoot” to make them feel relaxed at her sprawling Montecito estate, where she lives with Prince Harry and their children Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, four.
The duchess explained: “It demystifies.
“People walk in and go, ‘Oh, she’s in this with me.’ And what are they drawn to? Your kitchen. They come right in, and suddenly everyone’s a little bit softened.”
Prince Harry did not accompany his wife to the event.
